Teenage Drama Workshop - CSUN 2007 - James and the Giant Peach

Preliminary Sketches for Shadow Characters...

We will probably need one to three peaches for the
different peachy situations in the story!

Our rhino will be split into three to four pieces.

These roots will be added to the large
Balinese tree sans fruit and leaves.

I'm hoping to split the silkworm into three to five pieces as was done with the caterpillar from Alice in the Shadows. It's a little harder to manipulate, but I believe the students can do it! The centipede will have similar "sections".

The Queen will probably have less detail

Not sure exactly how big this will be,
but some of the building is necessary...

Please Note:

I'll post more sketches on this page as soon as more are done.
These are preliminary and they will change by the time they
become shadow characters. I'm envisioning the "props" to be
made of cardboard and the "live" characters made of goat skin.
